This is a very recent development, but here at NYC Performing Arts Spaces, we will be working with the Department of Aging to place musicians and composers in residence in selected senior centers in New York City. This morning at Mark Morris Dance Group, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced "Age-Friendly NYC: Enhancing Our City's Livability for Older New Yorkers," a series of initiatives aimed at making New York a move livable City for its growing senior population. We're very excited to be part of this package of initiatives. More details forthcoming, but thanks to Con Edison for continuing to support this workspace program for musicians and composers.
