Independent Contractor vs. Employee: What's the Diff? Does it Matter? (YES!)
Posted by Emily Bowles, on September 11, 2009 - 0 comments

From our friends at Dance/NYC:

Do you understand what makes an employee different from an independent contractor? Did you know you can be charged back taxes (!!!) if the labor board determines you have misclassified your dancers/teachers?

Come learn the rules and get an update on what the Department of Labor (DOL) is stating.  Dance/NYC Director Michelle Burkhart will report on her recent visit with the DOL and provide easy steps to follow to stay in compliance.  She will be joined by Richard Kass, an attorney who has practiced exclusively in the field of Labor and Employment Law on behalf of management for more than 20 years.

September 21, 2009, 6:30 PM @ Dance/NYC.  RSVP here (scroll to find event).
