Through its Fresh Tracks Performance and Residency Program, Dance Theater Workshop (DTW) provides an opportunity for new artistic voices in the field of dance to gain professional experience and recognition.
The Fresh Tracks program engages artists directly with peer artists, arts professionals, and DTW staff in dialogues about their work within the context of the professional contemporary dance and performance field. Auditions are held at Dance Theater Workshop in the early fall. In the spring, each member of the chosen group receives a 50-hour creative residency along with introductory level professional development workshops in marketing, fundraising, and career development strategies.
Of the 60 audition slots, 40 will be assigned randomly to artists who submit a form via U.S. mail. The remaining 20 slots will be assigned based on recommendations from individuals invited by DTW.
Requests for an audition must be postmarked by June 28, 2010. To download the audition application form and learn more about the program, click here.

Maybe it's because of all those episodes of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" that I watched as a child, but I just can't resist a trolley ride. And why should one resist at all when the trolley will take you to the hottest arts and culture spots in the Bronx?
The Field Artist Residency supports the creative endeavors of artists as they work toward an upcoming production.
If you are an artistic, theatre, dance, music or production company looking for a rehearsal and performance "home", develop a short performance skit on video (1-4 minutes), showcasing your organization’s talents and mission while answering Space on White's prompt question: “What could you do with Space on White as your blank canvas?” More contest details are available
