We aren't really able to list spaces like this in the NYC Performing Arts Spaces database, but here's a great opportunity for groups looking for a more permanent arrangement. Pass it on!
Westbeth Center for the Arts, a not-for-profit corporation providing affordable housing to artists, currently has two ground-floor spaces available for rent (most suitable for medium- to long-term rentals). Both are raw spaces that require some demolition and clean out. While Westbeth is not in a position to build for new tenants, they are willing to work creatively with any appropriate tenant to accommodate their needs. Westbeth can offer a welcoming environment, flexibility on the terms of rental, a willingness to cooperate with and its artist-tenants, and a neighborhood and potential audience pool unsurpassed in New York City.
One space is approximately 1,800 square feet, fronts on West Street and Hudson River Park, and would work best as an office or studio space. The other space is approximately 2,200 square feet, with large windows that look out on the interior plaza of the West Village artists complex, and could be adapted for a number of uses.
The smaller space is listed at approximately $5,000 per month and the larger $6,500 per month. If interested, please call Steven Neil or Matthew Russas at 212-691-1500 for more information.
